Bridging the gap between food waste and food insecurity

Food Assist is a club of Univeristy of Virginia students who volunteer to drive food donations from local resturants and University organizations to feed those in need. Do you have food that you are interested in donating?

"From 2017-2020, food insecurity rates in Charlottesville decreased from 17% to 12% percent (Feeding America). While this is still higher than the national average, we are grateful for the organizations and people that have worked hard to increase food access for neighbors in need, especially the FRN Chapter at UVA. It is an honor to support the passionate and driven student leaders that are fighting to reduce hunger and food insecurity in their community. To date, their efforts alone have provided 1,546 meals to neighbors in need."
